The East Haven community mourns the passing of Trofimena Conway, who died peacefully on February 28, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on September 27, 1932, Trofimena lived a life defined by devotion to family, enduring faith, and deep community roots.
A lifelong resident of East Haven, she was cherished not only by her relatives but also by neighbors and friends who came to know her warmth, kindness, and steady presence. Her life reflected the values of loyalty, compassion, and quiet strength that she carried throughout her 93 years.
Trofimena was predeceased by her parents, Anselmo D’Albis and Antoinette D’Albis (Ciccarelli); her beloved husband, William Conway; her son, William Conway Jr.; and her siblings John D’Albis, Pat D’Albis, Andrew D’Albis, and Marie D’Albis. Though she endured profound losses over the years, she remained a pillar of resilience and faith for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Conway of East Haven, who was a constant source of love and support. Trofimena also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren — Jason Bozzi (Ruth), Joseph Bozzi, and Rachel Perdo (Chris Perdo) — and her adored great-grandchildren Matthew Perdo, Gianna Bozzi, Joe Bozzi Jr., Mia Bozzi, and Isabella Bozzi. In addition, she is survived by her niece Annette Pelliccia of East Haven, many other nieces and nephews, and her devoted caregiver, Sandi Melendez, whose compassionate care brought comfort in Trofimena’s later years.
Family and friends gathered to honor her life on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Visitation was held at Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was laid to rest thereafter, surrounded by the prayers and remembrance of those who loved her.
Trofimena Conway’s life was rooted in faith, family, and unwavering dedication to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and in the community that was enriched by her presence. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
