Alicia Guzzo Rotterdam, NY Death, Obituary

With profound sorrow and aching hearts, we announce the passing of Alicia Guzzo, a beloved resident of Rotterdam, New York, who bravely fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. On February 28, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Alicia passed away at the age of 41, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to her.

Born on March 2, 1984, Alicia brought warmth, laughter, and light into every room she entered. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. To know Alicia was to love her — her spirit was joyful, her heart generous, and her love unwavering.

Alicia dedicated many years of her professional life to serving others. She worked as a secretary at ABD Engineers, LLP from September 2006 until February 2017. In August 2017, she continued her commitment to her community with Scotia-Glenville Central Schools, where her kindness and reliability left a lasting impression on colleagues and families alike.

Above all else, Alicia’s greatest joy was her family. Her husband shared the heartbreak of losing not only his wife but his best friend and partner in life. He promised to raise their beloved daughter, Aubrey, exactly as Alicia would have wanted — surrounded by strength, compassion, and unconditional love. Derrik and Aubrey were her entire world, and she cherished every moment with them. The love they shared was the kind she always deserved — true and steadfast.

To her dear friend Kris, Alicia was more than a friend — she was a lifelong soul connection. Born just 22 days apart, their March birthdays bonded them in a special way. No matter where life led them, they always found their way back to one another. In Alicia’s final days, Kris was gifted precious time at her bedside — sharing stories, laughter, and countless “I love you’s.” In a final, beautiful gesture, Alicia puckered her lips in a playful “mwah,” leaving behind a memory that will forever live in her friend’s heart. Even in her quietest moments, her expressive eyes and silly spirit shone through.

The Smith and Guzzo families surrounded Alicia with exceptional care and love throughout her journey, ensuring she felt comfort and dignity every step of the way.

Though cancer may have taken her too soon, it never dimmed her light. Alicia’s legacy lives on in Aubrey’s smile, in the devotion of her husband, in the friendships she nurtured, and in every life she touched.

Forever 41, forever loved. Alicia’s memory will be carried in our hearts until we meet again.
